Hi @Mommamia1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Hi there! If you're trying to find the Wi-Fi password or printer password for your HP printer, here’s a simple breakdown depending on what you're looking for:
1. Wi-Fi Direct or Printer Password (Usually for Setup)
If you're connecting your phone, tablet, or PC directly to the printer via Wi-Fi Direct, your printer broadcasts its own Wi-Fi network, and you'll need its default password.
👉 How to Find It:
- Printed label on the printer – Check the printer’s back, side, or under the scanner lid.
- Wi-Fi Direct default password is often:
- 12345678
- Or printed as "Wi-Fi Direct password" on a label or configuration page.
2. Print Network Configuration Page
You can print this to find passwords or IP settings:
On most HP printers:
- Go to the printer's control panel (screen).
- Tap Settings > Reports > Network Configuration Page.
- Look for:
- Wi-Fi Direct Password
- Network SSID and IP Address
3. Access Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
If the printer is already on your Wi-Fi, you can open its settings on a web browser.
Steps:
- Print the Network Configuration Page to find the IP address.
- On your PC, open a browser and go to:
http://[your printer’s IP address] - Log in (default may be admin, with no password unless one was set).
- Under Network or Wi-Fi Direct, you can view or reset the password
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
