I took out the 300 pages per month Instant Ink, however I'm not printing anywhere near that much. I thought Instant Ink monitored ink levels and only send more cartridges when the ink had run out, but I've been sent a second black and colour cartridge even though I haven't even started my first Instant Ink colour cartridge and have only just started the black cartridge.
No rollover pages are showing on my account, even though I've only printed 150 pages since starting the plan.
If I pause the account, it says I can only print 10 pages per month.
If I change my plan, it says I can only have 75 rollover pages.
According to another post, if I cancel Instant Ink, I'll no longer be able to use the cartridges that I've been sent.
The whole thing seems a massive scam. For HP to be limiting how many pages I can print once I've bought the cartridges seems ridiculous. Far from making my life easier, it's just a big headache.
Please tell me how I can use up my remaining Instant Ink cartridges and either switch to a different plan while still being able to use up the cartridges that I have.
Ideally I will use the remaining Instant Ink cartridges and then cancel my subscription.

This is a user to user forum and I am just the messenger of this bad news: Instant ink cartridges can only be used when the ink subscription is active.
Some HP printers can use non-HP ink

I have an old HP LJ cm1415llfnw color that takes any type of cheap toner. The genuine HP toners do work better but I do not do photo quality. I have to be careful opening the refilled no-name toners as the workmanship can be very poor. I keep it hardwired on ethernet with a fixed IP address to preclude my router from giving the printer IP address to one of my critter cameras.
these LaserJets can (or will eventually) accept toner not made by HP. Get one of them if you do not need photo quality.
