I have been turning off my HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 unless I need to use it. I am tired of being awaken at 5:30-6am as it connects to the server to run diagnostics, check ink levels, etc.. Is it possible to set a schedule? Otherwise, I'm tempted to throw away the printer and purchase another brand.

Welcome to the HP Community --
This is generally a nice printer -- some of the features supported by this series are not supported in "lesser" models.
That said, in so much that I am aware, you cannot schedule self-maintenance.
If you have not done so (and if you still have the printer)
Check whether the Printer's Schedule ON / OFF settings will do what you need.
This does not schedule the actual times the printer performs maintenance but the settings can restrict the operational days and times.
What if?
Sure and if you cannot find a way to control the printer to your satisfaction, you can replace it with a printer you want.
Perhaps try to find a home for your 9010 -- for example, a school or community center.
Some charity organizations are happy to take working printers.
