Common problems for INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Instant Ink. Check out this link: HP INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER. .

Microsoft Windows 11

An HP OfficeJet 8015, in excellent condition, was donated to our Community Interest Company Shop which had previously been registered in the Instant Ink program. We don't print that much and only need black printing. I purchased a regular HP compatible black ink cartridge and left the 3x colour Instant Ink cartridges in but it seems the printer is designed to only accommodate Instant Ink cartridges. It won't operate with absent cartridges as protection for the print heads. I can't believe HP would design a product that renders itself as scrap unless you subscribe to their ink purchasing program. That's not at all ECO friendly so there must be a solution. Please advise if you have any ideas.

To use store bought ink cartridges first the printer must be removed from the instant ink subscription, and you need to use all 4 store bought ink cartridges, you can't mix them.

Thanks

How do I remove the instant ink subscription as this was setup by the previous owner. Or will it automatically get removed somehow?

The previous owner can do it, new owner can't do anything about it.

I bought 3 more non-instantant ink cartridges so as to have a complete set, no mixing, and will try. However what can be done if the previous owner, who I don't know, didn't remove the printer from the instant ink program? Does the program keep the printer in the program indefinitely so nobody else can ever use the printer and it has to be scrapped? That doesn't sound like an eco-friendly design.

Phil
