How do I remove or change my WiFi setting from HP Instant Ink connectivity?

My subscription ended on 2-28-26. I logon on to my account and it is showing my printer is still connected through them.

I appreciate any guidance you can provide to remove my printer.

Thanks,

Jane Simoneaux

Hi @Jane5455

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps you can follow to remove or change the Wi‑Fi settings from your printer so it no longer shows connected under Instant Ink after your subscription has ended:

Step 1: Disconnect Web Services

  1. On the printer’s control panel, press the Setup or Settings button.
  2. Navigate to Web Services Setup or HP ePrint Setup.
  3. Select Remove Web Services or Turn Off Web Services.
    • This action stops the printer from communicating with HP’s servers.

Step 2: Forget the Current Wi‑Fi Network

  1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Network Setup or Wireless Settings.
  2. Choose Wireless Setup Wizard.
  3. When the list of networks appears, select your current Wi‑Fi and choose Forget or Cancel.
    • If your printer does not have a “Forget” option, you can instead connect it to a different Wi‑Fi or leave it disconnected.

Step 3: Reconfigure or Leave Disconnected

  • If you want to connect the printer to a new Wi‑Fi:
    1. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard again.
    2. Select the new Wi‑Fi network and enter the password.
  • If you prefer not to connect it:
Simply exit the wizard without selecting a network. The printer will remain offline.

Step 4: Verify in Your Account

  1. Sign in to your HP account.
  2. Check the printer status. It should no longer show as actively connected once Web Services are removed.

By following these steps, your printer will be disconnected from Instant Ink connectivity and you can either leave it offline or connect it to a new Wi‑Fi network for regular printing.

The steps you provided and showing did not work for my HP Envy 6400e printer.

Vanessa Uchi, helped me to remove my printer. However, I still could not reconnect my printer to my Wi-Fi and had to call to get AI generated support who walked me through the process flawlessly.

I had to hide my printer to which no one previously  gave me that step, and then I was able to complete the set up again to reconnect my printer. All are working fine. Maybe that hide your printer step should be mentioned to others going forward.

Respectfully,

Thank you for sharing your experience so clearly, @Jane5455

It sounds like you went through quite a journey to get your HP Envy 6400e printer disconnected from Instant Ink and then reconnected to Wi-Fi. I’m glad to hear everything is working fine now.

Your point about the “hide your printer” step is especially valuable. That’s not something most guides mention, but clearly it made the difference in your case.

Feedback like this helps ensure that future instructions are more complete and save others from the same frustration.
