Hi @Anne1661,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A blue screen on your HP Envy 4524 printer usually indicates a hardware or software issue. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Restart the Printer: You've already tried this, but it's worth trying again. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck inside can cause errors.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up-to-date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website and install them on your computer.
  • Check Printer Connection: Make sure the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If you're using a USB connection, try unplugging and replugging the USB cable. If you're using a network connection, ensure that the printer is connected to the network and that your computer can communicate with it.
  • Perform a Hard Reset: Sometimes, a hard reset can help resolve issues with the printer. To do this, turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for about a minute. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Firmware updates can sometimes fix bugs and improve performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
