I cannot understand why if I’m paying for the ink monthly why am I being charged for printing using my own printer and my own paper so I’m on a plan that I get 50 copies a month if I go over that I pay one dollar for every 10 copies. I just don’t understand. Why do I have to pay for printing if the printer belongs to me? !!

Hi @Mari521,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are having an issue with your instant ink account.

HP Instant Ink is based on pages, not cartridges. Your monthly fee allows you to use our subscription cartridges to print your plan pages and includes ink or toner, delivery and recycling.

If you cancel the Service, even if the Subscription Cartridges provided with your subscription are not empty, they will stop working in your printer and you will have to replace all of them with standard cartridges to resume printing.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
