I am getting a cartridge error message.

Microsoft Windows XP

I am getting a cartridge error message and I have replaced the ink, done updates to the best of my knowledge, restarted the computer, Gone back to factory settings. Having tried all of this I get an error message that the Y is out of ink so I put a new one in and then I get another cartridge error "M" and "Y" are out of ink and another error message.
