I cannot connect to printer as i cannot locate a PIN number

The PIN for connecting your HP DeskJet 2842e All-in-One Printer is typically found on a sticker on the printer or displayed on the printer screen when setting up Wi-Fi. Here’s how to find it:

Check for the WPS PIN on the Printer:

• Look for a sticker on the back, bottom, or inside the ink cartridge door. It may be labeled as "WPS PIN".
• If the sticker isn’t there, follow the next step.

Print a Network Configuration Report:

If the PIN is not visible, print a network configuration report to find it:

1. Press and hold the "Information" button (🛈) on the printer until all buttons light up.
2. Press the Information and Wireless (📶) buttons together to print the report.
3. Look for the WPS PIN in the report.

Generate a New WPS PIN:

If you still can't find the PIN:

1. Press and hold the Wireless (📶) button for 3-5 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
2. The WPS PIN should appear on the printer screen (if available) or be printed in a Network Configuration Report.
3. Use this PIN when prompted on your computer or router.

Use Wi-Fi Direct (Alternative Method)

If you cannot find the WPS PIN, you can connect using Wi-Fi Direct:

1. Press and hold the Wi-Fi Direct button for 3 seconds until the button starts blinking.
2. Connect your device to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct network (e.g., HP-Setup-2842e).
3. Use the default password: 12345678 (unless changed).
