Serial number [edit] I cancelled my order of ink cartridges does this have something to do with it? As no one can help me connect it . the paper icon and the  x icon are flashing red. Microsoft customer service re downloaded all the drivers.  Virtual assistant keeps on a loop. So frustrating .   Been weeks without a printer. Please help.

If you were on instant ink and cancelled but are still trying to use cartridges supplied under instant ink that would be the problem. When you cancel instant ink, the supplied cartridges become void as they only function in a printer with a valid subscription. You will need to purchase retail cartridges to restore  operation.
