Hi @Ann0457

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If you have unused HP printer cartridges from your previous printer and would like to return them for credit, HP generally provides several options, depending on the condition of the cartridges and your location.

Steps to Return Unused HP Printer Cartridges

Check HP's Return Policy:

  • Visit the HP Store and navigate to the "Customer Service" or "Returns & Refunds" section.
  • Review the return policy to ensure that your cartridges are eligible for return. Typically, unused and unopened cartridges can be returned within a specified period after purchase.

Contact HP Support:

  • If you meet the eligibility criteria, contact HP customer support for further assistance.
  • Provide details about your purchase, such as the order number, purchase date, and cartridge model numbers.

Prepare the Cartridges for Return:

  • Ensure that the cartridges are in their original packaging and have not been opened or tampered with.
  • Pack the cartridges securely to prevent damage during shipping.

Request a Return Authorization:

  • HP customer support will usually provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and instructions on how to return the cartridges.
  • Follow the instructions carefully and include the RMA number with your return shipment.

Ship the Return:

  • Use the provided shipping label (if available) or arrange for shipping through a carrier of your choice.
  • Keep the shipping receipt and tracking number for reference.

Wait for Confirmation:

  • Once HP receives and processes the returned cartridges, they will typically issue a credit or refund to your original method of payment.

Alternative Options

If your cartridges are not eligible for return, consider the following alternatives:

Recycling Program:

  • HP offers an environmentally-friendly recycling program. You can recycle your unused cartridges through the HP Planet Partners program. Visit the HP Recycle page for more information.

Reselling:

  • You can also consider reselling the cartridges through online marketplaces or local office supply stores.

For specific return details and to start the process, you can visit the HP Store Returns & Refunds page.
