Hi @ellora1,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the orange blinking light on your HP DeskJet 4252e All-In-One Printer typically indicates an issue with the ink cartridges.

Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Check the Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the printer's ink cartridge access door.
  • Ensure the cartridges are properly seated in their slots. They should click into place securely.
  • Close the ink cartridge access door.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges and in the printer.
  • Allow the contacts to dry for a few minutes.
  • Reinstall the cartridges and close the access door.

Check for Protective Tape:

  • Make sure you have removed any protective tape or plastic cover from the new cartridges.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP Support website.

Run an Alignment:

  • Sometimes running an alignment can resolve issues with new cartridges. This can usually be done through the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app.

Check for Error Messages:

  • If there is an error message on the printer's display, it can provide more specific information about the issue. Follow any instructions provided.
