I want to know how to override the smart printer and HP without having to buy a new printer.   I don't like being controlled I can get my own ink and paper, I have been with HP  for over 35 years.

The Instant Ink subscription service is optional.

Said another way:

You do NOT need a subscription to the ink service to use your printer.

If you already have a subscription, you can cancel the contract.
