Hi @EshwarV,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When you are enrolled in an HP Instant Ink plan, your printing is typically tracked by the HP Instant Ink service based on the number of pages you print, not the type of ink you use. Here’s how it works:

How HP Instant Ink Works

Ink Usage Tracking:

  • HP Instant Ink tracks the number of pages you print rather than the specific ink cartridges used. Whether you use HP Instant Ink cartridges or standard cartridges, the page count is what matters.

Cartridge Type:

  • Instant Ink Cartridges: When using HP Instant Ink cartridges, the pages you print are counted toward your monthly plan limit.
  • Non-Instant Ink Cartridges: If you use standard ink cartridges instead of Instant Ink cartridges, the pages you print with these cartridges are still counted as part of your Instant Ink plan, as long as your printer is connected and communicates with HP’s servers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
