HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed a new ink cartridge and keep getting an error message that it's not a compatible or authentic however it is. I used to be able to open it and remove and reinstall the cartridge or restart the printer to get it to work again however that is no longer working anymore. I did all of the auto chat assistant suggestions and none of them worked.

Is the cartridge an Instant Ink cartridge?  What exactly is the error message?  If you have not already done this I would suggest the troubleshooting steps in the document here.  Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and in the printer as shown in Step 3 in the Type 1 section.

The kind of ink cartridge I purchased was from Amazon and is HP brand and says that it is instant ink compatible. The full description on Amazon reads as "Original HP 61 Black Ink Cartridge | Works with DeskJet 1000, 1010, 1050, 1510, 2050, 2510, 2540, 3000, 3050, 3510; ENVY 4500, 5530; OfficeJet 2620, 4630 Series | Eligible for Instant Ink | CH561WN". The error message that it reads says "Incompatible Cartridge(s) The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer." which then indicates the black ink. I have done all of the trouble shooting options including cleaning the contacts on the printer and the cartridge. I have rebooted it per the instructions. For a time removing the cartridge and replacing it worked but now that doesn't work at all. This is a new cartridge as well. Any other suggestions?

The cartridges do have a warranty, see the document here for information.  Check the warranty date on the cartridge.  If the cartridges are out of (HP) warranty I would suggest contacting Amazon for a refund or replacement.

To get warranty coverage from HP you will need to go to the Contact HP page, then enter the information for your printerAt this point it will likely say "Manufacturer's warranty has expired"  To the right of this it will say "See details".  Click the "See details" link, which will open another page with more details.  Near the bottom of the text will be a paragraph that says :

HP has checked your product information, including the product and serial numbers, to determine your warranty results. The legal warranty expiration date is based on the date of purchase, as indicated on your receipt. If you feel these results are incorrect, you may submit a dispute for review. Dispute this

Click on the "Dispute this" link which will ask for some additional contact information.  Fill out the contact information, then in the bottom section select:

Dispute reason

Issue with my Accessories, Supplies and/or Software.

In the comment section indicate that you have a defective supply that is in warranty.
