Hi,

I just got an error yesterday that my black ink 'Incompatible cartridge', even though I have been using this cartridge for months with no issue. It is a genuine HP cartridge. 

So I replaced it with a brand new HP blank ink cartridge and still getting the same error.

I searched through this forum and followed all suggestions, such as hard reset, remove cartridges, plug out, hold down power button for 30 seconds, plug in and install cartridges. But the same issue is still there and I am getting the error message 'Incompatible cartridge'. 

Please can someone help on how to resolve this issue ? I can't understand why it is a problem all of a sudden with cartridge being used for months with no issue and also doesn't work with a brand new replacement cartridge.

I understand you are getting this error on the printer screen. If you have already performed the steps from the document Ink cartridge errors: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04100778  and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.  Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/
