Hi @Shirinfaisal,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering an "Incompatible Ink Cartridges" error with your HP DeskJet 2720 All-in-One printer, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges that are compatible with your printer model. Using third-party or counterfeit cartridges can lead to compatibility issues.
  • Reinstall Cartridges: Remove the ink cartridges from the printer and then reinstall them. Make sure they are properly seated and securely inserted into their respective slots.
  • Check for Protective Tape: Some ink cartridges have a protective tape or seal that needs to be removed before installation. Ensure that you have removed any protective covers or tapes from the cartridges.
  • Clean Contacts: Ink cartridges have metal contacts that communicate with the printer. Make sure these contacts are clean and free from any debris or ink residue. You can gently clean them with a lint-free cloth.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.
  • Update Firmware: Sometimes, printer firmware updates can address compatibility issues. Visit the official HP support website for your printer model and check if there are any available firmware updates.
  • Reset Printer: If none of the above steps work, you might want to try resetting the printer to its default settings. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
