HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer

I have just purchased this printer which came supplied with set up cartridges.  However I did quite a lot of printing on the first day and the cartridges ran extremely low.  Despite signing up for the Instant Ink Programme I needed replacement cartridges more urgently and so I ordered the appropriate cartridges 305 XL from Amazon from what seemed a reputable vendor and the box seems genuine.  However when I replaced them, I got the message that the black cartridge was not compatible and there is no way to bypass the message to get the printer to commence printing.  The replacement tri-colour cartridge seems OK as I can or could see that the ink was full on the indicator in HP Smart.  Any suggestion or do I have to wait until Instant Ink delivers?

HP smart is so good it doesn't know I have generic ink cartridges.  I really can't get beyond that page it says my printer isn't connected, but when I insert a USB drive in it, I see it come up on my computer's file explorer.  Thankfully it does the full page scan and saves it on the USB drive which I can access from the desktop.  The original software that came with the printer was great.  I didn't realize it was an online program until HP shut it down.
