I purchased an original pack of HP Inks at Office Depot. When I replaced the cyan, my printer stopped working. How I can replace the cyan cartridge as soon as possible since I have to print it for my work?

HP 951 Cyan

Thank you

Hi @mitchellinos,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here are the steps you can follow to troubleshoot and possibly replace the cyan HP 951 cartridge for your printer:

Check the Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the cartridge is properly installed. Remove the cyan cartridge and reinstall it, making sure it clicks into place.

Check for Protective Tape:

  • Verify that all protective tape or plastic from the cartridge has been removed. Sometimes, small bits of tape can remain and block the ink from flowing.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Dirty or smeared contacts can cause recognition issues. Gently clean the gold-colored contacts on the cartridge and in the cartridge slot in the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Perform a Printer Cleaning Cycle:

  • Use your printer's built-in cleaning function to clean the print heads. This can often resolve issues related to ink flow.

Check Printer Software for Error Messages:

  • Look for any specific error messages in the printer’s software on your computer or on the printer display. These messages can provide additional troubleshooting steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi. I try every step you offered for a solution and did not work.

I replace all the cartiges, but when I put the new cyan, it say that is a system ink error. If I replace whith the depleted one, its seems to work, but do not print because the cyan is depleted. Please, let me know how I can replace the cartige.

Thank you
