I have followed all the suggested steps and the coloured ink still won't work. I had to clean the black one on the last change too - can't be right!

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? Are you using HP Instant Ink cartridges?  If not, are the cartridges HP or third party? What are any error messages on the printer or computer screen?

Thanks for the speedy reply.

 

It is a desktop 2630. I am using HP cartridges as  signed up to the instant ink package. I had a problem with changing the black cartridge but after following the cleaning steps it worked. But it is not working for the coloured ink. It's a new printer and these are the first changes.

The document here has information on contacting HP to get replacement Instant Ink cartridges.  Log into the HP Instant Ink site, the phone number (or chat option for some countries) will be listed in the lower right of the opening screen.
