I am enrolled in instant ink and was sent cartridges but when I installed them, I was only able to print a few pages and now it says error 11 and the hp smart app is telling me I have to install the cartridges that was sent to me

It seems you are encountering issues with the HP Instant Ink cartridges that were sent to you. Here are steps you can take to resolve this error:

 

Check Instant Ink Enrollment: Ensure your printer is currently enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program. Instant Ink cartridges will only work in printers that are actively enrolled.

 

Install Instant Ink Cartridges: Make sure that you have installed the cartridges that were specifically sent to you as part of the Instant Ink program. They should be compatible and properly seated in the printer.

 

Reset Your Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can solve cartridge or printer errors. Here’s how to reset:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cord.
  • Plug the printer back into a wall outlet directly and turn it on.

Use the HP Smart App: If the app is prompting you to install the Instant Ink cartridges, ensure you follow the on-screen instructions to confirm that the installed cartridges are detected properly.

 

Check Firmware Updates: Make sure your printer firmware is up-to-date, as outdated firmware can sometimes result in compatibility issues. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
