HP DeskJet 2723e All-in-One Printer

Just cancelled my instance ink subscription as the cost for 10 months exceeds cost of purchasing at a retailer. 10 months = $21.50 as I needed more than 10 pages a month. Home use but doing taxes for family and printing out 1040's for records. If I increased my pages per month, then cost goes up, so more money for more pages. So going round and round with pages and cost per month.

Hi @MLogan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand your concern.

What is the current plan you are having?

Can you help me with more details?

When did you cancel the instant ink program?

Enrolled in the 10 pages per month but exceeded that limit several months during the 10 months I was subscribed. Cancelled on March 21, 2024, but billing period ends April 19, 2024. After that date I am supposed to stop using the supplied ink cartridges and return them. Why should I return them when I have paid for them with monthly payments?

Hi @MLogan,

This is because the instant ink cartridges work only when the instant ink account is active. Once it's inactive or canceled, it will not work any longer.

Below are complete details about the Instant Ink subscription -

• Instant Ink printing plans are based on pages, not cartridges. You choose an Instant Ink plan based on the number of pages you would like to print monthly. Your monthly plan fee enables you to use the subscription cartridges to print your plan pages and includes ink delivery and recycling.

• Color, black and white, and photo prints all cost the same. You can roll over unused pages (up to three times your plan pages), or if you print more, you'll automatically purchase sets of 10-15 pages,(pages per set varies by plan).

• We send you HP Instant Ink cartridges when you first sign up for the service. Replacement cartridges are sent when your printer tells HP you need more ink, not by the month.

• Cartridges are not sent by the month. You will only receive cartridges when your printer tells us you need them, based on your ink usage.

• We send you HP Instant Ink cartridges when you first sign up for the service, and additional replacement cartridges are sent as needed, not monthly.

• HP Instant Ink cartridges are very high capacity, so most customers don't require frequent shipments. You must keep your printer connected to the internet and your shipping address and payment method up to date to avoid service interruption. An active subscription is required for Instant Ink cartridges to print,

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
