HP Deskjet Plus 4100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to replace my previous hp deskjet printer (replaced by hp support because of hardware issues after 3 months) with another deskjet plus 4100 printer and I've tried to enroll it on already existing instant ink account (setup for the previous one) and it keep failing not accepting the claim code. The main issue is that I got the message that the printer is already connected to another account. I've tried to restore factory defaults but I still the same issue, I've dowloaded and installed new firmware for the printer but still have the same issue.

Can you help?

@amontaru, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are trying to enroll the replacement printer. We’ve made it easy to transfer your HP Instant Ink plan to a new HP printer.

Follow these steps to keep your account history, rollover pages, and free trial months:

  1. Make sure the new printer is HP Instant Ink compatible. If you plan to purchase one, look for the HP Instant Ink logo on the box. For warranty replacements, you will automatically be sent a compatible printer.
  2. Do not cancel your current Instant Ink plan.
  3. Once you have the new printer, log in to your account at hpinstantink.com and click Enroll/Replace Printer.
  4. Then follow the steps to complete enrollment of your new printer.

If you have issues with the claim code, refer to - Having Trouble Claiming Your Printer?

If the issue still persists, kindly contact the Instant Ink department in your region for assistance. The contact information can be found on the home page of Instant Ink. Click here or go to HP Instant Ink support

Hello, I already did all you explain when I posted which means I still have the issue...

The code is not accepted when trying to replace the printer on instant ink and the issue seems to be related to the strange message "The printer is already connected to another account"... I remind that this a new printer sent by HP in replacement of a broken one under warranty.

That's what I'm also trying to do, but nobody seem to have enought expertise or background to help with this issue on the local hp support. Cases are opens since 1 month.

I saw in other posts, that other peaple are having same message "Your printer is connected to another account" that prevent them to perform the enrolment so I wanted to try here posting my problem and hoping you have a procedure to solve it... But it seems you have not either!!!!

@amontaru

As the issue is related to the Instant Ink account, the Instant Ink team is the best bet to resolve this issue.

I can only check the account status and cannot make any changes to it.

Contact the team again with the existing case number.

Let me know how it goes.
