HP Envy Photo 6230

Looking for some help here folks, I'm really annoyed.

I moved from Epson to HP due to this Instant think which is supposed to make life easier.

It's turned out to be a disaster.

I setup my printer with the included starter cartridges. Got the email saying Welcome Pack on it's way (a week ago, and its still not left the Royal Mail London RDC) I then printed about 13 pages of text with a few colour diagrams and........

You guessed it - Printer Dies saying out of ink. So now I have a black and white printer.

Really 13 pages is all it prints as a start kit!!! I mean I've done that in 6 days so not exactly hammered it and now no ink - I have my daughters school work to print (in colour) and my own work to do and it seems to be HP expect me to swap out both ink tanks (because you can't change one) to standard ink - Continue to pay for instant ink (even though I'm on my own ink) / Loose the promotional trial period of print 300 pages a month....... because they don't send out the welcome pack quickly.

Come on as much as it pains me and I loath them even Amazon managed to get an order placed on 1st Jan delivered to me within two days. So my question...

Who do you contact at HP to get reimbursed for ink, because if I'm having to go to my local Argos tomorrow and fork out £37.99 for ink because this crappy starter kit only printed 13 pages and my Instant Ink still is a no-show. I'd like to know who at HP I send the bill too because I be dammed if I'm having to pay out twice.

Hi @SkynetCentral

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Apologies for the inconvenience. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • During the initialization of the printer, a large quantity of ink is consumed by the printer to complete the cycle.
  • Printing photos consume more ink than printing documents/text on a regular paper.
