HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

Hello!

I replaced one of the cartridges that I received through the instant ink plan.  The cartridge was throwing an error once installed.  I went through all the recommended steps for troubleshooting, got to the end, and it told me to replace the cartridge.  I went to the store for a new cartridge, and the store-bought cartridge worked fine (911 print emergency lol).  Now I have this cartridge that I received (from instant ink plan), full of ink, but doesn't work.  I would like to have a cartridge sent to replace this bad one.  I have no idea how to accomplish this and the AI assistant makes me want to punch my computer.

Any help?  Appreciate you!

@Lenloc, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Instant Ink Cartridge Errors!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If the instant ink cartridge you received through the Instant Ink Plan causes errors, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. If the cartridge still doesn't work after troubleshooting, here’s how you can address the problem:

Reset the Printer

  • If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.
  • Press the power button to turn off the printer. If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

Update Firmware

Check Web Services

  • An interruption of your printer connection to the Instant Ink service can cause cartridge or connection errors.
  • Make sure Web Services are on. Follow the instructions here: HP Printers - Turn On Web Services.

Remove Cartridges and Reset Printer (Inkjet Only)

  • Remove the cartridges.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
  • Reinstall the cartridges.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
