HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer
iOS

I am currently enrolled in Instant Ink.  My printer is connected to a wireless network but all of a sudden I am unable to print because the "printer might not be connected to HP Instant Ink anymore".  Why?  Nothing has changed.  I have followed all of the recommended instructions including holding the wireless button and letting the printer sit for 2+ hours.  I installed new Instant Printer cartridges on the off chance that the older ones has lost the connection and that did not work either.  The only thing I can print is the "Printer Information Sheet" and it is extremely frustrating.  Perhaps I should consider cancelling and buying my own printer cartridges??

Hi @Kath25,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with your HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-In-One Printer and its connection to HP Instant Ink, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take.

  1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same wireless network as your computer and that the internet connection is stable. You may want to restart your router to make sure.

  2. Printer Firmware Update: Make sure that your printer has the latest firmware. You can check for firmware updates through the printer's control panel or the HP website.

  3. Re-Enroll in HP Instant Ink: Sometimes, re-enrolling your printer in HP Instant Ink can resolve connectivity issues. Log in to your HP Instant Ink account online and re-add your printer to the account.

  4. Restart the Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary connectivity issues.

  5. Check HP Instant Ink Subscription: Ensure that your HP Instant Ink subscription is active and that your printer is correctly registered with the service. You can log in to your HP Instant Ink account to verify this information.

As for the idea of canceling the Instant Ink subscription and using your own cartridges, it's a personal choice. If you're comfortable managing your own ink supply and want to avoid subscription fees, using standard cartridges is a viable option. However, keep in mind that Instant Ink offers a convenient and cost-effective way to receive ink when you need it without having to monitor ink levels manually.

Before making any decisions, it's recommended to resolve the current issue with HP Instant Ink connectivity to ensure that you have all available options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

We have tried all of these things multiple times and we still are unable to print anything.  My instant ink account is current and you will see I have been unable to print anything for several months.
