The scam of instant ink program is yet one of the many money grabs that has no conception of anything other than making money for HP.  Customer service when they tried to explain to me the concept of Instant Ink, could not explain it to me for users who are not big printers.  I signed up for a plan that was $6.00 per month.  Well, rare was the time that I got a 6.00 per month bill.  Some were as high as $120.00!  And I think over a year they shipped me two replacement cartridges.  When the person on the phone explained to me that they charge per sheet I print -- mindful that I paid for the paper myself -- I knew that HP had no conception of service to family printers as opposed to business printers.  So I cancelled.  That evening I went to print -- with the cartridges that were in the printer and the ones I presumably purchased with my monthly fee that was NEVER the $6.00 as advertised -- I received notification on my machine that it would not print as these **bleep** cartridges were provided under the Instant Ink Plan and won't work.  I bought them, but I guess I didn't.  I was taken advantage of by misleading advertising.  A very bad deal.

I’m sorry you had such a frustrating experience with the Instant Ink program. It’s disappointing when a service doesn’t meet expectations, especially when billing and usage don’t align as expected.
