HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer

I've not received ink in MONTHS. Every time I log into the HP Smart App my printer ink levels show full when I've been out of ink for ages.
I've ended up going to the local library to print things. Gas+time+cost of printing there.  Seems ridiculous to have to do that when I OWN A PRINTER AND PAY FOR THE INK TO BE DELIVERED!
HP Support had nothing to say except that they've sent more ink. I tried to unsubscribe from the ink delivery but the Tech Support person just said to give it another shot. I pointed out how it's failed this far and why should I continue to waste my money. He just ended the conversation.
So how do I proceed from here? I'm paying for a service that clearly isn't working as advertised.  Other posts on this board suggest that only Instant Ink will work in the printer. HP is seriously dropping the ball for service and reliability. Trapping you into a service they get money for monthly and if you cancel then your entire printer is worthless?
