I have the same issue.  I cancelled my Instant Ink plan because I wasn't getting help with an issue.  I then bought a toner cartridge from Staples and it worked with no problems.  Now I have and error message on home page of HP Smart underneath my printer that says Check your account.  I need to get the printer working asap. Help
