OfficeJet Pro 9012
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

After installing the 'M' and 'K' cartridges in my HP OfficeJet Pro with Instant Ink subscription regularly active, the printer LCD is showing the usual message:  *HP Instant Ink Cartridge*: Thank you for installing the HP Instant Ink cartridges. Please remember to recycle... etc"

But  there is the 'OK' button on the LCD display on the lower right corner that does not receive the command: pressing OK nothing happens. I can hear the slight sound touching the screen, so the command is being apparently received but the Instant Ink message/screen does not disappear. So that screen is covering the Home page and therefore I have no access to the LCD panel features at all.

- A cold power-off disconnecting the power cord did not help: at the restart the usual 'Verifying the printer..Wait." message occurs and then the Instant Ink screen with 'OK' is being shown again.

- Using the WebScan or Printing works regularly.  Even other Windows applications work flawlessly with the printer.

- The EWS correctly  shows all of the 4 cartridges with proper ink levels.

- Cycling a power off and power on from EWS did not help: after the usual verifying the printer screen, that Instant Ink screen is back each time.

- HP Easy Smart and the full web drivers have been installed: HP Print and Scan Doctor does not help.

I do not want to reset this printer! It happened the same issue  last month changing the "C" and "Y" cartridges.

But again now I have no more access to the printer LCD panel.

Any help, please?  Thank you.

@Semper69, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the printer screen is stuck at this error.

Reinsert the ink cartridges to check if that helps.

Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC

Go to the HP Smart app and click OK. Check if you are still able to print from the computer.

Restart web services

Click here to know how to turn off web services. Refer to this document to know how to turn it on.

If the error persists, kindly contact the Instant Ink department in your region for assistance. The contact information can be found on the home page of Instant Ink. Click here or go to HP Instant Ink support

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
