I have been enrolled in Instant Ink since Jan 2024, but new cartridges never ship until I'm completely out of ink, leaving me unable to print for nearly 2 week at a time.  This is causing my orders to be significantly delayed and is incredibly frustrating.  Is there a way to change the service to ship before running out of ink?  This time, I ran out of ink on 4/1. My cartridge shipped that day via DHL. Its now 5 days later and still DAYS away from delivery.

@AmandaC-OK_USA, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Instant Ink!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

HP Instant Ink is designed to make sure you never run out of ink by automatically shipping ink cartridges when your printer detects that ink levels are low. If you're finding that your new cartridges are arriving late and causing printing delays, there are a few steps you can take to improve your experience:

  1. Check Subscription Level: Ensure that your subscription plan matches your usage. If you're printing more than your plan covers, you might run out of ink more frequently.

  2. Update Shipping Preferences: Verify your shipping address and delivery preferences to ensure they are correct.

  3. Monitor Ink Levels: Regularly check your ink levels through your printer or HP Smart app to anticipate when you might need a refill.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

I have never gone over my 100 page plan, i rarely use half of it.  My shipping info is correct. What does me checking my cartridge ink levels do without an option for me to request new cartridges? You increased the price this month, yet here I am unable to print since 4/1/25. I shouldn't have to pay $30 for an ink cartridge from a retail store because instant ink waited until I was out of ink to ship a refill using the slowest shipping service available-DHL to USPS.
