I cancelled my subscription back in November in response to the end of the free service, for my subsctition that was due to end today.
I got the email this morning and cancelled the cancellation. They might be issuing the email in order of subscriptions ending, or only offering it to those that have already placed a cancellation of the subscription (and where the subscription has not yet ended).
I'm pleased they have back tracked o their plans. Now what to do with the non HP Inks I bought in readiness? 🤔

Got the same email from them also today. However when the original notification came out i went to cancel my subscription and was offered 4 month free trial to stay on which obviously had accepted. Now get this email to say my original plan will continue. However when looking at my account still shows my 4 month free trial and not the free plan. Hoping someone from HP can confirm my plan will revert back to the free plan as advised in the email.

Hi, I cancelled my free subscription with my end date of Dec, 7. I now see some people have gotten an email saying they will honor their commitment for free printing for life. I never received an email from HP yet, but I thought I would go to instantink and see if the free plan was available. It is not.
Maybe they are selective on who gets to keep their free plan and the rest of us are out of luck?

It's good to see that HP have done the right thing here and honoured what they have originally sold. I think they have been a little less than forthcoming with how they've approached it (especially if the cynical side of my brain is right in thinking they've left it until the last possible minute to offer staying on the free plan in the hope of catching a few 'upgrades').

Just got off the phone with Customer Support. They asked me to relay the following message:
Everyone who has had the free plan from when they purchased their printer and has not made any changes to their plan, will continue to receive the benefits of the free plan. This applies regardless of whether they receive an email to that effect. If you change plans, cancelled the plan, change printers, etc. you will not be able to return to the free plan. If you buy a new printer, the free plan will not be available. If you printe dies, the free plan will die with it.
What they are doing with people who cancelled their Instant Ink arrangement due to the now revised decision to end the free plan, Support did not know. i could imagine that they will allow these people to reinstate their free plan since the decision to cancel was based on a change that was later retracted. I suggest if you fall into this category to open a case with HP Support.
Hope this clarifies matters. I am glad that HP finally saw the light.

Great news, but what if we have already migrated to the new "version" of the plan for 0.99 €/m (To benefit from a few free months)? I also received the email, but in my customer area, it says: "0.99 €/m with 3 months free" now...

From what i gather, you are out of luck then. Here is a portion of the letter I--finally-- got today (translated from German):
"You will be able to use the free plan for the rest of the life of your printer, unless you change to a paid plan"
I suggest you call HP Support and maybe they can reinstate your free plan because you switched based on a pricing policy change that was later retracted. I would not hold my breath, though.
