Mine gives me an InstantInk error and just will not print. My cartridges are fine.

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth? What exactly are the error messages on the printer or computer screen?  Are you enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program?  Are the cartridges Instant Ink cartridges?

I am directly connecting with a USB cable to the printer. The issue was my credit card had expired at HP Instant ink. I went to that website and changed over to Paypal. However, I try to print and there are the messages "HP Instant Ink Error"  and "Printer cannot print". I can't believe they would prevent your printer from printing just because the Instant Ink credit card has failed. This cannot be a network error as I am directly connected to the printer. I have tried rebooting the printer.  😞  There needs to be some method of clearing this error message.

I forgot to mention that I am using genuine HP cartridges. This is an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710.

The Instant Ink Terms of Service  (section 7.a.vii) specify:

In the event that HP is unable to collect payment from Your Payment Method at the time payment becomes due, HP may temporarily cease your access to the Service, and the Subscription Cartridges will stop functioning, until payment can be collected; if HP is unable to collect payment from You, HP will cancel Your Service and terminate this Agreement pursuant to Section 9 (“Cancellation”).

Also note, Section 5.c requires the printer to be connected to the internet (so that page usage can be reported and ink levels monitored so automatic ink shipments can be made).  A USB connection to the printer will not allow this and will not work for Instant Ink.

I would suggest you contact the HP Instant Ink Support folks, the phone number is near the top of the page in the terms of service document above.
