I got a new HP printer a couple months ago and signed up for instant ink, which I've never bothered with before. I already had ink cartridges that worked well after I put them in the printer and printed just fine for 2 months (1 color cartridge and one black one). I also had another store bought black cartridge in my desk for future use. Today I decided to cancel instant ink because they require the printer to always be on so they can track things, and that is a waste of energy. My instant ink subscription supposedly is good through Feb 3, 2023. I changed my black ink cartridge today, same day I cxld instant ink, and suddenly NONE of the cartridges I have work at all, including the one sent to me BY instant ink. I keep getting "cartridges in the wrong slot" error. The "helper" on the phone told me some **bleep** and bull story about the cartridges being only for my new printer installation. I had a 2 perfectly fine store bought cartridges before I got the instant ink cartridge, a new instant ink cartridge that was supposed to be fine through Feb 3, and now everything is "just for the printer installation". Save yourself.

Hi @TJun,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

This situation will need some additional support from our internal teams in HP.

We have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers who should be able to sort this out.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
