Full disclosure, this printer is from 2015. I subscribed to the $2.99/month Instant Ink for FOUR YEARS, and NEVER used it. Complete waste of money, I know. I finally unsubscribed in 2019, and of course, now have recently found the need for a printer again. I subscribed for the FREE, very minimal pages subscription just now. The printer is on, the printer is connected to wifi, the printer can show me the ink levels. However, when I review my updated subscription, and try and locate the shipment, or when I'll be able to use the **bleep** thing, it just shows "Cartridge Error:We can't determine your next shipment, because we aren't able to read your ink levels."
