I let my instant Ink subscription laps, why can’ti use my printer?

Welcome to the HP Community --

If you let the subscription lapse and cease making the appropriate payments necessary to keep your plan,

OR

If the plan / trial / subscription was terminated in any way (for example, including ignoring the subscription and not making payments),

(then)

HP will terminate the subscription for lack of care and payment.

The Instant Ink cartridges, that is, any and all cartridges activated or provided by Instant Ink during the subscription will stop working.

Said another way:

Instant Ink cartridges only work with a current and active subscription.

What?  Cartridges are made available during an active subscription to the service.

After the contract is ended, the cartridges lock and cannot be used in any printer.

Return the cartridges in the same Return envelope you use for depleted cartridges.

HP will take care of proper recycling and handling of the unused product.

The solution:

Remove all Instant Ink cartridges from the printer.

and

Purchase and install a fresh set of HP genuine cartridges into the printer.

If possibly, return all the Instant Ink cartridges to HP.
