À few days ago I bought a new printer and activated the instant ink option. After installing the printer I was only able to print just a page or five with color, then the display told me the color cartridge was empty and on printing the next page it was obvious it was indeed empty. Since I needed to print asap 8 went to the store to buy a color cartridge and replaced the empty one. Now the device is telling me it's not an instant ink cartridge and I got an email with the same explanation. The black cartridge however is still the one delivered with the device. By placing an original, regular cartridge, will I not be receiving any instant color cartridge? I mean, I had to place a regular one because the one that came with the device was empty way too fast if you ask me.

You can use (install) all Instant Ink cartridges or all retail cartridges.
No Mix-and-Match allowed.
