Does anyone think the instant ink plan is worthwhile?  I get charged monthly but haven't used enough ink to get a shipment,.so I definitely feel as though I am getting ripped off by HP.  I wish I hadn't signed up for this BS when I bought my printer, but if I quit now I'll have paid for months and gotten nothing. So I think I'll wait until they finally send me some ink and then quit.  Seems like a huge rip-off.

@Mjb78, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Instant Ink!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I totally hear your frustration, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with Instant Ink. It can definitely feel a bit confusing if you're not receiving shipments regularly—especially when you’re paying monthly.

Let me try to explain how the HP Instant Ink plan works and why it can still be worthwhile for many customers:

With Instant Ink, you're not charged based on the cartridges you receive, but rather on the number of pages you print each month. The idea is to save you money in the long run—up to 50% on ink—by automatically sending you cartridges before you run out, based on your printing activity. So even if you haven’t gotten a shipment yet, it just means your printer still has enough ink to cover your current usage, which is a good sign! 😊

But if your printing volume is super low, it might be worth re-evaluating your plan. The good news is, you’re in control—you can switch to a lower plan or even pause/cancel anytime without penalties.

If you’re ever unsure about how much you’re printing or whether you're on the right plan, I’d be happy to help look into it with you. We really want this to be a service that feels convenient and valuable—not a hassle.

Let me know if you'd like help adjusting your plan or reviewing your usage! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
