If the warranty on my printer expired, does that mean the instant ink subscription will not work for it? My printer works perfectly fine still, but the warranty is expired.

Hi @Inkpls,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

The expiration of your printer's warranty does not affect your HP Instant Ink subscription. You can continue using the Instant Ink service even if the printer is out of warranty, as long as the printer is operational and connected to the internet. The subscription is independent of the warranty status and will continue to provide ink cartridges as needed according to your service plan.

Key Points:

Subscription Continuity: As long as your printer is connected to the internet and compatible with the Instant Ink service, you can continue with your subscription regardless of warranty status.

Service Plan: Ensure that your payment details and subscription plan are up to date to receive uninterrupted ink deliveries.

I hope this helps.

Hi! Thank you! This did kinda help. I had called about my instant ink subscription and had asked when was my ink arriving at the time. My printer had shown that I was out of ink. I had called to ask about the ink because it was showing that the info was unavailable, I believe, so I couldn't see whether instant ink could see that I was out of ink and when it would be arriving. The person I had talked to had said that my printer was not under warranty anymore and that was why instant ink couldn't tell I was out of ink. I was confused and had to clarify that the printer still worked fine and that it was still able to send out info, like being out of ink. (I can't remember exactly what the setting was called on the printer that allowed that, but it was on). They told me even though the printer worked, that I would need another printer and told me that would be the only way the subscription worked. Then tried selling me a printer. Which would be great if I really wanted a new printer but I didn't.  Honestly was really confused at the time and still kinda am. Maybe there was some miscommunication between what they were putting down and I was picking up.
