I took a free trial of instant paper and cancelled 2 weeks before it finished, but I have received an email saying I will be charged on my next bill for it? Why would I be charged when I cancelled a free trial way before it ended or the next bill was generated? I can't seem to talk to a human in the chat at all to get answers.

Hello @Dom7777, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for the additional information. We understand why receiving a billing notification after cancelling the HP Instant Ink Paper Add-on free trial would be concerning.
According to the email address associated with your HP Community profile, we can confirm that the Paper Add-on has been successfully unsubscribed. However, the HP Instant Ink subscription for ink is still active.
HP allows the Paper Add-on to be managed separately from the Instant Ink subscription, and the Instant Ink account dashboard provides information about the active plan, billing, and account status. HP Instant Ink – Ink Monthly Subscription | HP Official Site
We recommend that you:
- Sign in to your HP Instant Ink account.
- Verify that the Paper Add-on shows as cancelled.
- Check the Ink Plan, which is currently still active.
- Review the Billing section to determine whether the email notification relates to the active ink subscription rather than the cancelled Paper Add-on.
- While signed in, make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the internet, then allow the printer and Instant Ink account to synchronize. This will help ensure that the latest printer, subscription, and account information is reflected on your Instant Ink dashboard.
Since the Paper Add-on is already showing as unsubscribed, you do not need to cancel it again. If the account continues to show a future charge specifically for the Paper Add-on, please let us know, and we can guide you on the appropriate next steps.
Have a great day!

Yes I thought it was cancelled and everything looks as it should on my account, no active paper subscription. But the email specifically said I would be charged for paper. This is what it said:
Your final bill will be charged between 09 November 2026 and 13 November 2026.
Since your HP Instant Ink plan is billed at the end of your billing cycle, you will be charged for paper one final time. If you printed over your available plan pages before your subscription ended, you will incur additional fees.
