I setup the new printer and enrolled in Instant Ink, but noticed it's constantly connected to the internet.
I don't prefer this because I don't print frequently, so the printer is needlessly occupying wireless band and consuming power.
Automatic power OFF is disabled when using the constantly connected feature, but this isn't explained during installation.
I'm thinking of doing a full reset and reinstall the printer, but without the constant connection.
So, is it mandatory for the printer to be connected for Instant Ink to work?
As I used the printer wirelessly, I'm guessing that everytime I power ON it will communicate and update with Instant Ink.
Am I wrong?

\Hi @JulioBro,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are looking for Information related to your instant ink account.
It is important for your printer to be connected to your WiFi network. Every HP Instant Ink subscription has built-in cartridge monitoring. Your printer automatically keeps tabs on how much ink or toner is left in your cartridge. So, instead of merely warning you about low levels, your printer takes the next logical step and orders a replacement cartridge for you.
While shipping times vary depending on your location, the program actually factors that into your replacement order. That way you won’t be left in the lurch when your ink gets low. You will have a replacement cartridge ready to swap for the empty one.
Even if your device is powered off, and not online for 6 months or more, there is no issue with your Instant Ink agreement other than you might have some wait for new ink cartridges when you reconnect, as it will take time for the system to catch up.
