HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My printer  (HP ENVY 5660) will not print anything sent from laptop or Apple iPhone.  I have unplugged, removed cartridges and re-installed, I still get the same message "HP Instant Ink Problem". I tried copying something and the same message. I checked my Wi-Fi and it was working properly.

I hope you can help me resolve this issue.

Hi @RBUMPASS,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering an issue with your HP ENVY 5660 printer, specifically related to the "HP Instant Ink Problem" message. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

  1. Check HP Instant Ink Subscription:

    • If your printer is enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program, make sure your subscription is active and that the printer is connected to the internet. You may need to sign in to your HP Instant Ink account to check the status.
  2. Update Firmware:

    • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can often resolve compatibility issues and improve overall performance.
  3. Restart the Printer:

    • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This process can sometimes clear temporary glitches.
  4. Check Wireless Connection:

    • Ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop and iPhone. If there are any connectivity issues, try reconnecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  5. Reset Printing System (for Mac):

    • If you are using a Mac, you can try resetting the printing system. Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners," right-click on the printer, and select "Reset printing system." After resetting, add the printer again and check if the issue persists.
  6. Reinstall Printer Drivers:

    • Uninstall the printer drivers on your laptop and reinstall them. You can download the latest drivers from the HP support website.
  7. Check for Paper Jams or Hardware Issues:

    • Ensure that there are no paper jams or other hardware issues with the printer. Check for any error messages on the printer display panel.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
