I tried to print a black and white image and it printed green instead of black. I tried cleaning the printer heads and the report that's printed didn't show any magenta. Only yellow and cyan which would only produce green since to save black ink it uses the color cartridge to produce black. My Instant Ink account show that the ink is fine. I can't find any way to manually order or get any satisfaction from their virtual helper. Does anyone have a solution to my problem. Right now I'm feeling like this Instant Ink plan is a rip off. I am also being charged for pages I am using to try to remedy this situation.

Hi @timb726,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having a frustrating experience with your printer and the Instant Ink service. Here’s a step-by-step approach to try and resolve the issue:
Troubleshooting Steps
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that all ink cartridges are correctly installed and not empty. Even if Instant Ink shows that the ink levels are fine, physically check the cartridges for any issues.
Perform a Printer Calibration:
- Many printers have a calibration or alignment option in the settings menu. This can sometimes fix color issues and improve print quality.
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure that your printer settings are set to print in black and white or grayscale rather than color. Sometimes, the settings might revert to color printing by default.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure your printer drivers are up to date. Visit the manufacturer’s website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Some printers have firmware updates that address various issues. Check the manufacturer’s website for any available updates for your printer.
Try a Different Document or Image:
- Print a different black-and-white document or image to see if the issue persists. This helps determine if the problem is with the specific file or a general printer issue.
Use Printer Diagnostic Tools:
- Many printers come with diagnostic tools that can help identify and fix problems. Check the printer’s software or control panel for these tools.
It seems like your HP printer is configured to work with HP Instant Ink. I will need a few additional details to help you with this.
I request you to share all the details in a private message.
