I am trying to print from the 6000e (which I have been before).  I ran a test page on the printer, but I cannot print a test page from my computer or print anything from computer.  The printer runs a blank piece through the machine.

I have unplugged and plugged back in. I have recently unplugged and plugged back in modem.  I have ink.

Hi @liz5370,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with printing from your HP 6000e printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your HP 6000e printer is properly connected to your computer. Check the USB or network cable connection, and make sure it's securely plugged in.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can help reset the printer and clear any temporary issues.

Restart Your Computer:

  • Sometimes, issues may be related to your computer. Restart your computer and see if it resolves the problem.

Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause printing issues. You can visit the HP website to download the latest drivers for your printer model.

Print Queue:

  • Check the print queue on your computer to see if there are any pending print jobs. Clear any stuck print jobs and try printing again.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure that there are no paper jams in the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause printing problems.

Printer Settings:

  • Check the printer settings on your computer to ensure that the correct printer is selected. Also, make sure that the printer is set as the default printer.

Test Page:

  • Try printing a test page directly from the printer. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or the computer.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that there is enough ink in the printer cartridges. If the ink levels are low, replace the cartridges.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website. Updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure that there are no conflicting software or security programs that might be blocking the printing process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
