HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

My computer is out of black ink so I signed into Instant Ink to see what is the problem.  My printer shows green as online and green as subscribed by my ink levels are not displaying like it does for my other printer.  Instead, there is a message stating, "Unable to load data."

It sounds like your printer is connected but not properly communicating with HP Instant Ink, which is preventing ink refills. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

 

1. Restart Everything

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and router.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then turn them back on.
  • Try checking Instant Ink again.

2. Check Web Services

  • Open your printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS):
    • Type your printer’s IP address into a web browser.
    • Go to Settings > Web Services.
    • Ensure Web Services is enabled.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Firmware.
  • Install any available updates and restart the printer.

4. Reset Instant Ink Connection

  • Open HP Smart and remove the printer.
  • Re-add the printer and sign into Instant Ink.
  • Check if ink levels appear.
