Hi @kreid1221,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The message you're seeing on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8128e, "A problem has occurred with your HP account, and you will be unable to print until the issue is resolved", typically relates to HP+ or Instant Ink account issues. Here's what it means and how to fix it:

What This Message Means

Your printer is likely enrolled in HP+ or HP Instant Ink, which requires:

  • An active HP account
  • stable internet connection
  • Ongoing account verification with HP’s servers

If there's a problem with your HP account (e.g., login issue, subscription lapse, or account mismatch), the printer may block printing until it's resolved.

How to Fix It:

1. Check HP Account Status

2. Reconnect the Printer to HP Smart

  • Open the HP app on your computer or phone.
  • Sign in with the same HP account used during printer setup.
  • If the printer is not listed, click Add Printer and follow the prompts.

3. Restore Printer to Factory Defaults

This can clear account sync issues:

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer using the HP Smart app.

4. Check Internet Connection

  • Make sure the printer is connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer’s control panel to confirm.
