Hi @fellcoll,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering an issue with your HP OfficeJet 5255 printer, where it's locked up with a message from Instant Ink despite having an active ink plan. To resolve this problem, you can try the following steps.

Check Your Instant Ink Account:

  • Log in to your Instant Ink account online to verify that your ink plan is indeed active and there are no billing issues. Ensure that the printer is associated with the correct Instant Ink account.

Restart Your Printer:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can help clear temporary issues. Unplug your printer from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. Turn it on and check if the issue persists.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause compatibility issues. You can check for firmware updates on the HP support website.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • If your printer is still not connecting to Wi-Fi, you may need to reset the network settings. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to do this.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your printer. Be cautious as this will erase all settings and preferences, and you will need to set up the printer from scratch.
    • To perform a factory reset, refer to your printer's manual for step-by-step instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
