Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My cartridges were replaced in April 2018 and I use the printer infrequently. The black cartridge does not now print but indicates that it has plenty of ink. I have carried out several 'cleans' including the second level but nothing changes.  I have a case number for a recent attempt to solve the problem but that does not give me access to A PERSON to whom I can request a replacement cartridge.  It seems that FREE INK is a misnomer because I have nearly used up my 15 page allocation and if I have to 'drain' the colour cartridge in order to get a replacement, that will be more pages over my allocation.

Can someone guide me out of this apparently insoluble dilemma?
