Hi @JoeRusher
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
I understand how frustrating this must be, especially if the printer was working normally and then suddenly stopped recognizing the toner cartridge. I would request you to please follow the steps:
Power Reset the Printer
- Turn the printer on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet.
- Turn the printer back on.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts
- Remove the toner cartridge.
- Inspect the metal contacts inside the printer and on the cartridge for dust or debris.
- Gently clean them with a dry, lint-free cloth.
- Reinstall the cartridge.
Test with Another Cartridge
- If you have access to another compatible toner cartridge, install it temporarily to determine whether the issue is with the cartridge or the printer.
The HP LaserJet M110w supports HP 141A (W1410A) original toner cartridges. If a non-HP or refilled cartridge is installed, the printer may display a compatibility or supply-related message depending on the printer's firmware and settings. If you are using a genuine HP cartridge, it should be recognized provided it is compatible with your printer and not defective.
If the Issue Persists
Please provide:
- The exact error message shown on the printer or HP Smart. Please share a picture of the error.
- Confirm whether the toner cartridge is genuine HP or third-party.
- The cartridge picture.
Take care and have an amazing day!
