I was formerly enrolled in Instant Ink subscription but had to cancel temporarily. I was unsuccessful logging in online due to invalid credentials and failed recovery attempts, then also in reaching HP Instant Ink by phone due to extremely long wait times & sometimes getting sent to leave a brief voice message. I cannot make personal calls during work hours unless very brief and I have one hour before & one hour after work that falls within Instant Ink's Hours that I can call. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle to keep trying so I turned off the card on file that was billed and mailed the catridge back.
Now I've since found a device that I had saved login credentials to Instant Ink online & I'm where I can resume subscription, but when I login there is no "my account" section, nor billing, pages printed counts, etc.. Just welcomes me by name & asks me to choose a plan and try instant ink subscription.. so I rolled with it. It had my shipping address entered when I selected plan and instructed me to ePrint direct from printer to retrieve a code that will print but the printer will say "printing.." briefly then "cannot print, visit hpinstantink.com for more information."
I've unplugged and plugged power to printer.. I've toggled web services and ePrint off and back on. I removed the "ink ready" cartridges that came with the printer (that you don't send back & they have ink because I immediately replaced them when the initial shipment catridges came in they send for you to have on hand, since the ones included have less ink) and I put them back in. Obviously the printer is blocked, I remember it saying as such back when I turned card off that was on file. I'm frustrated because I DO NOT understand why they remove the "My Account" section from the site when logged in so you can't update billing, shipping address, etc., if/when a person decides to resume subscription. The virtual chat agent is pathetic.. phone support only good for people who don't work or can spend hours on a personal call during work hours.. or in my case, call illegally while driving in commute to or from work. No weekend support or evening support.. not even a LIVE AGENT available in chat.
I'm 90% certain that just because I'm enrolling AGAIN, the issue is due to the card (now expired) on file, and the fact that in enrollment it's not including the billing step (another dumb fact with how they operate).. so when it has me select a plan and verify shipping address they have is valid.. then gives 2 steps to initiate printing of a page to retrieve a code and bypassing billing while printer blocked.. this is the reason I'm getting "cannot print, visit hpinstantink" message.. Unless I'm missing something?
So does anyone know of another way I can complete re-enrollment (identified by site as if first enrollment) and/or update billing, given the facts mentioned above, without requiring a call to them? Honestly, I'll literally have to take off for a fake dental appointment or something to call them, and if I were to do that and get disconnected on long wait or they were to fail to resolve the issue, I would go ballistic. I've never in my life been through so much hassle and waste of so much valuable time for something as unnecessary as this, in my life!!
Also, any thoughts or shared experience with the "my account" section not showing on their site after login?? Or perhaps knowledge of a backdoor way to get to "my account?" Finally, if this is going to require taking off work to call, can I just order plain cartridges from Amazon and install them to make it print and just forget the "non-Instant Ink" subscription headache?
Btw.. a few times I called, I got a different message allowing me to record a voice message for callback (I suppose it depends on exactly how long the wait time is.. if it's 1-2 hrs, you hold.. if 2 to 6 hrs wait, you get voicemail?!) but in my message they gave you like 20 seconds before cutting you off, and I clearly stated NOT to return my call during "X" hours, but only the following times or email me.. and they called during my work hours anyway.
I appreciate any advice/assistance anyone can share, thanks!
